George Jones Attributed Majolica Sardine Box. Comprising ceramic box attached to underplate, both with green foliate pattern on pink ground with yellow border trim. Cover crowned with three overlapping sardines on green foliage with touches of blue, which opens to reveal foil sardines in faux sand.

Some craquelure and finish loss to cover, most noticeable to tailfin area of sardines. Box and visible underplate with light wear, surface scratches and some minuscule nicks to edges. Cover with small surface chips to primarily underside edge. Some black flecks, dust and dirt residue. Foil fish with holes, tears, partial bodies as made.
