Framed United States Secretary of the Navy Flag. Medium blue field, centering the 1876 Centennial spread wing eagle with three arrows in talons, head facing dexter. Two stars above and two below, in white. Sewn buttresses to ends near grommets. Painted, embroidered and applied to the dyed linen. Circa 1945-1950. {Approximate dimensions: 44 5/8" high x 57 1/2" wide with frame.}. Provenance: Austin Hills. Condition: Minor surface wear and scratches to frame and glass. A few dashes and strokes of misplaced paint to surface of flag, and to glazed frame.
