Flemish Verdure Tapestry, woven in wool, with a verdant pastoral scene of trees in a receding wood. Woven in shades of blue, green, ocher and brown. Mounted onto a plain woven wool backing.  Mid 18th Century, with later backing.

{Approximate dimensions:  6' 9 1/2" high without rings x 7' 7" wide.}.

 

 

Condition

Request Condition Report

Significant wear reflective of age and use, including tears, holes, repairs, un-repaired linear tear of about 6 3/4" inches, about half of the tapestry darker in coloration than the other half. Slightly uneven borders as made.  Some rings attached to top. Please contact the Furniture and Decorative Arts Department for a detailed condition report on this lot.
