Five H.L. Mencken Volumes Including Signed.  Comprising signed copy of "AMERICANA 1925" lacking dust jacket, with label "Ex Libris Dr. Chr. Deetjen" to interior cover, the signature made out to the same name; "MAKING A PRESIDENT" signed 1932 first edition with label for "Alan K Dolliver"; "NOTES ON DEMOCRACY" 1927 first English edition; "EUROPE AFTER 8:15" 1914 first edition lacking dust cover; "THE AMERICAN MERCURY VOL. 1 NO. 1" January 1924.  {Approximate dimensions:  Largest "The American Mercury" 10 1/8" high x 7 1/8" wide.}.

All with later plastic covers.  American Mercury with tear to plastic, fraying to edge, discoloration, and foxing to page edges.  The others with some minor wear to covers or jackets, pages in good condition considering ages, minimal darkening or discoloration.

Dr. Deetjen was a recognized member of Mencken's "Saturday Night Club", which met from 1918 to 1950.  Deetjen was a pioneer of X-Ray technology.
