Federal Mahogany Tall Case Clock with Works by John Lynch Baltimore. John Lynch (1761 - 1848), also active as a silversmith. The clock case with arched bonnet and columnar supports with bronze mounts, body of conforming design, with banded inlay to door. Clock face finely painted with rocking ship at sea between two globes, with neoclassical motifs to corners. Pendulum and weights, key present.

Crack to hood under glazed viewing panel, to base, left side of face. Short crack to hood at base toward panel, right. Short crack to case. Tight crack to backing board, roughly 14 ins, from top toward base. Prominent tight knot to center of door. Craquelure to painted face, patination to metal parts.
