Empire Style Gilt Bronze Mantel Clock, "Narcissus a La Source," the white enamel dial with Roman numeral chapters and Arabic quarter hour numbers, contained within a bowed rectangular case surmounted by the figure of Narcissus leaning left, admiring himself, over the cylindrical clock, flanked to either side by masked Classical heads issuing water from their mouths, the dial above two classical robed females pouring water from vessels, in low relief, ovoidal base with appliques in low relief, of water sprites, and gods, over quadrupedal claw feet.

Serendipitously, Lieutenant Commander Dan Mitchell transferred to the Naval Reserve where he joined VR-872 – a Navel transport squadron out of the Alameda Naval Air Station that Michaan’s is located on now. He and his wife, Paris, loved to travel and made it a point to travel to Paris twice a year, and always brought back beautiful and interesting items.
