Empire Style Gilt Bronze Mounted Portico Clock, tablet frieze over fluted Corinthian columns, circular porcelain dial with foliate bezel, with an eight day twin barrel movement striking the hour and half, within a cast foliate surround, below a frieze with lion mask and swagged ribbons, and floral swag mounts and a stepped and cast top, supported by four Corinthian capital columns supporting an entablature with scrolling foliate frieze containing winged figures. Compensated foliate pendulum with beads to interior of floral design.

Serendipitously, Lieutenant Commander Dan Mitchell transferred to the Naval Reserve where he joined VR-872 – a Navel transport squadron out of the Alameda Naval Air Station that Michaan’s is located on now. He and his wife, Paris, loved to travel and made it a point to travel to Paris twice a year, and always brought back beautiful and interesting items.
