Chinese White Jade Carved Two-Section Belt Buckle, Qing Dynasty. Each section crisply carved in high relief with a sinuous qilong coiled amid scrolling lingzhi-form clouds, the beasts rendered with pronounced ridged spines and tightly curled snouts. The principal plaque terminates in a well-modeled beast head hook, its features subtly raised, while the counterpart is pierced to form a corresponding aperture. The stone is of an even white tone with minor russet inclusions accentuating the recessed areas. {Largest: H 7/8 x W 2 5/8 x D 1 3/4 inches (2.5 x 6.4 x 4.5 cm)}.
