Chinese Terracotta Two-Headed Snake. Molded as a sinuous snake with Nv Wa and Fu Xi's head, referencing to the creature documented in Chinese classical mythologies, literature, and murals, each head similarly molded with a pointy horn atop thier heads and two feet kneeling on the floor. Sui/Tang Dynasty (581-907 A.D.). {Length 15 inches, Height 5 inches}. Provenance: Austin Hills. Condition: Paint exfoliation and surface wear. Ask the Asian Art Department for more information.
