Chinese Lacquered Boxes. Comprising: a prism-shaped box with wavy borders, the cover painted with a five-clawed blue dragon chasing a flaming pearl; a clove-shaped red lacquered box, the body and cover decorated with gilt village scenes; a square box that opens from the top through a metal handle, the front painted with lacquer depicting a scholar and children; and a small wooden chest with a domed cover, the cover and sides carved with relief figures and trees. {Height overall 4 - 12 3/8 inches (10 x 31 cm)}.
