Chinese Ge-Type Vase. Well potted after the archaistic bronze hu form, rising from a spreading rectangular foot to a waisted and flaring neck flanked by a pair of lug handles; the neck and shoulder are applied with raised bands and covered overall with a thick, lustrous glaze suffused with dark iron and golden crackles. The base is incised with an inscription. {Height 10 1/4 inches (26 cm)}. Condition: Ask the Asian Art Department for more information.
