Chinese Carved Soapstone Fish Group on Wooden Base. The carving depicts a dense grouping of fish rendered in high relief, interspersed with flowing fins and layered forms. The composition is carved from a single stone and mounted on a fitted wooden stand. The reverse is left largely plain, showing the natural stone surface. {Approximate dimensions: height 13 3/4 inches x width 16 1/2 inches}.
