Chinese Carved and Gilt Lacquered Opium Bed. The bed is constructed of wood and finished with red lacquer and gilt decoration. The surrounding frame is carved with panels of figures, scrolling motifs, and geometric openwork, with additional pierced and gilt elements along the upper rail and sides. The interior platform retains a lattice support structure, raised on shaped legs with carved apron panels. {Approximate dimensions: height 85.5 inches x width 85.5 inches x depth 58.25 inches}.
