Chinese Black Lacquer and Hardstone-Inlaid Cabinet.

The cabinet of rectangular form with a pair of hinged doors opening to an interior fitted with two small drawers above a larger lower compartment, surmounted externally by two additional small drawers, the exterior finished in black lacquer and decorated with inlaid hardstone depicting flowering branches with blossoms and leaves arranged in a balanced composition across the doors and sides, framed by gilt-decorated borders and scrolling motifs. The top and drawer fronts are further embellished with gilt ornament, and the cabinet is raised on a shaped apron and short feet. A label to the reverse indicates manufacture by the Beijing Gold Inlaid Lacquer Furniture Factory.
