Burmese Gilt Lacquered Wood Buddhist Figure. Depicting a Buddhist figure carved from wood and finished with gilt and lacquer, shown with elongated ears, downcast eyes, and hands lowered at the sides. The robe is carved with flowing folds and retains areas of gilding and lacquer, with colored glass inlay set along the garment decoration. The figure stands on a circular lotus base with a later wooden stand. {Approximate dimensions: height 33 1/4 inches}.

Surface wear, losses to gilding and lacquer, and areas of abrasion consistent with age and handling.
