Two Chinese Agate Snuff Bottles, Late Qing dynasty, comprising one of banded agate with warm amber and cream tones, and the other of moss agate with natural inclusions resembling landscape forms. Each bottle is of flattened form with rounded shoulders, fitted with a stopper. The stones are skillfully utilized to highlight their natural coloration and patterns, a hallmark of Qing dynasty lapidary artistry.
These examples reflect the Qing taste for elegant, naturally expressive materials transformed into refined personal objects.
{Largest: length 2 1/2 inches}.
