Alexander (Sandy) Calder (American, 1898 - 1976), "Sky Swirl," "Sky Bird," "Convection," "Beastie," and "Friendship," from the Braniff International Airways Flying Colors, 1974, group of 5 (of 6) color lithographs on wove paper, [approximate dimensions - sheets: 20" H x 25 7/8" W], three with the Flying Colors Collection blind stamp lower right. Commissioned by Braniff Airways, Dallas. Calder collaborated with Braniff Airways, 1974-75, to design a flying canvas for the airline Boeing 727 fleet.
Condition
Overall good condition and with handling wear. Minor creasing in top left corner of "Friendship" (rings) and minor discoloration in lower blue section of print in "Sky Swirl" (black swirl). All unframed.
