Depicting the four-armed bodhisattva Avalokiteshvara seated in meditation upon a lotus base, the principal figure centered within a richly articulated mandorla and flanked by subsidiary figures set within cloud-borne medallions. The composition includes stylized trees, mountains, offering vessels, and auspicious symbols arranged symmetrically throughout the lower register. Painted in mineral pigments on cloth and mounted within a patterned brocade surround with silk ribbons and wooden dowel. {Approximate dimensions: height 29 7/8 inches x width 23 1/2 inches}.
