A Large Chinese Blue and White Landscape Vase, Late Qing Dynasty

A large Chinese blue and white porcelain vase, dating to the Late Qing dynasty. Of baluster form with a flared neck and gently spreading foot, the vase is fitted with a pair of openwork scroll-form lug handles at the shoulders. The exterior is finely painted in underglaze blue with a continuous mountainous river landscape inhabited by scholars, fishermen, and travelers. Towering peaks, winding paths, rustic pavilions, and boats drifting across tranquil waters are rendered in varying shades of cobalt blue, creating a vivid sense of depth and atmospheric perspective. The composition reflects the enduring literati ideal of harmony between man and nature, a favored decorative theme on Qing dynasty porcelain. Elegant in proportion and richly painted, the vase exemplifies the refined blue-and-white wares produced during the Late Qing period for scholarly and domestic display.

清晚期青花山水人物双耳大瓶。器身呈长颈丰肩式，撇口，圈足，两肩饰镂空卷草形双耳。通体以青花绘通景山水人物图，高山耸峙，江河蜿蜒，苍松古木掩映亭台楼阁，其间高士雅集、渔舟泛水、行旅穿行于山径之间，构图开阔疏朗，富有层次变化。画工运用浓淡不同的青花发色表现山石皴法、水波流动与远近空间，营造出清雅深远的文人山水意境，体现了晚清青花陈设瓷器对传统山水画艺术的继承与发展。整器造型挺拔端庄，纹饰繁而不乱，兼具观赏性与陈设性，为晚清大型青花陈设瓷器的代表作品之一。
