Cast bronze hanging altar lamp of arched form, featuring an openwork handle richly carved with scrolling vines and floral motifs surmounted by a suspension loop. The circular oil reservoir is decorated in relief with continuous scrolling foliage, while the underside bears a cast rectangular seal reading "Nakao Munesada Seizō" (中尾宗貞製造, "Made by Nakao Munesada"). The lamp displays the robust modeling, deep relief carving, and intricate openwork decoration characteristic of Japanese bronze craftsmanship of the late Edo to Meiji period. Works bearing the Nakao Munesada mark are admired for their refined workmanship and sculptural quality.

銅製の吊り灯です。

装飾として植物文様が全体に施されています。本来は仏具として用いられたものと思われますが、持ち手と装飾が一体となったアーチ状の意匠が印象的で、美しい造形美を備えています。吊るして使用することも可能ですが、接続部は非常に繊細な構造のため、置いた状態でのご使用をお勧めします。

底面には「中尾宗貞製造」の銘があります。中尾宗貞は江戸時代後期から明治時代にかけて活躍した銅工として知られており、本作もその作と考えられますが、詳細は不明です。
